Frequently “Axed” Questions

How old do I have to be to participate?

Participants must be eight years of age or older. Anyone under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

How big is the trailer?

The trailer is 20’x8’, not including the tow vehicle and needs a space of 25’x15′ for one lane, 25’x20′ for two lanes, and 25’x25′ for all three lanes.

How many people can throw?

On average 25 people can throw per hour, for a maximum of 75 people in all three lanes. Each of our three lanes can accommodate up to 2 throwers at a time. This option is great for birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, team building and more. If your group exceeds 25 throwers, you will need to reserve additional throwing lanes. Please feel free to contact us if you aren’t clear on how many targets you should reserve for your group.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes, every participant will be required to fill out a waiver. It’s easy and you can complete it when you book or while you’re waiting in line.

What is axe throwing?

Believe it or not, axe throwing has been around for a while, and it is quite safe. It typically involves throwing an axe at a wooden target. The goal is to embed the axe as close to the bullseye as possible.

What should I wear?

The only clothing requirement for throwing an axe or knife is closed-toe shoes. Comfortable clothing that allows for full range of motion in your arms is recommended.

Is it safe?

At Tomahawk Toss safety is our priority.  Our coaches are certified through the World Axe Throwing League (WATL).  At the beginning of each throwing session all throwers are started off with a safety brief.  Each thrower is then taught by our coaches how to properly handle the ax, throw, and retrieval from the target.  We will always have a CPR certified coach at each event also.  We inspect the axes frequently to ensure the axes are always in good repair.  Each lane will have a dedicated coach to ensure everyone stays safe and has an Ax-tastic time!
